When our post about driving ranges went viral, we got a lot of questions about mini golf. Many of our readers thought we would be in support of mini golf and we need to set the record straight.

Mini golf is not okay.

Mini golf is marketed towards children. If you listen to the golf lobby, mini golf is a family friendly activity. It’s supposed to be a fun way to introduce your children to golf. According to USKidsGolf.com: “Miniature golf could be your child’s first experience with golf and the one that keeps them hooked on the game in the early years.”

That is completely unacceptable. Mini golf is how golf culture indoctrinates impressionable children. Children who are too young to understand how dangerous golf is, and who don’t understand they are being trained in violence.

Mini golf courses are -if anything - more dangerous than normal golf courses. There are mechanized parts and loose rocks that can crush a child, and the water obstacles present a serious drowning risk. Poorly maintained wiring at mini golf courses had lead to children’s deaths. This is no place for our children.

Mini golf is also too dangerous for adults, especially when paired with alcohol. We’ve seen that again and again.

There is simply no justification for allowing these deathtraps to remain in business. We must ban mini golf now! We cannot afford to wait.
