On November 8th, 2020, a mere 24 hours after the results were finalized in the most controversial election in United States history, our nation changed forever.

Golfer and Trump supporter Mark Anthony Ulsaker viciously attacked an elderly couple with his golf club. The reason? They had a home-made sign supporting President-Elect Joe Biden in their yard. This was the first politically motivated attack by a golfer after the election, and was likely one of the first warning signs of the violence that would later follow on January 6th.

Mark Ulsaker beat an 80-year-old man with his golf club until the club broke.

This was the incident that started our movement. As golfers, we had all joked about which of our clubs we might use to fend off an intruder in our homes, but this unprovoked attack woke us up - we were part of the problem.

Every time we told that joke, or swung our clubs in mock anger, we were normalizing the kind of dangerous golf violence that Mark Ulsaker let loose on November 8th. We knew this had to end.

We knew Mark Ulsaker felt power from the fact that he had a golf club in his car. And we knew the attack would have been far less harmful if he hadn’t had the club in the first place. But more importantly, we knew we could make sure this never happened again.

We resolved to ban golf. Every club, every ball, every course. And we won’t stop until there isn’t a single putting green in America.
