We recently got a fantastic question about our article on why golf clubs must be traceable.

You wrote that golf clubs must be traceable but why? Golf clubs are dangerous so why are we letting golfers take their clubs home at all? They only need them to play golf the rest of the time the clubs can stay at the course.

First of all, huge thank you to AChristianAteeist for challenging our assumptions. When you’ve lived surrounded by golf culture your whole life, it’s tough to see all the things you’ve been conditioned to accept - like why anyone would need a golf club in their home.

When we started this movement we took all the clubs out of our own homes. We expect others in our movement to do the same, but we don’t ask the same of the general public. All of our efforts so far have been focused on banning golf outright. But even little steps towards that goal can go a long way.

This would be a huge step. We know that most domestic golf violence occurs in the home, and we know there is no legitimate use for a golf club off the golf course. Best of all, we can take action right now.

We are actively working with legislators in Washington State to draft legislation to ensure golfers must leave their clubs at a licensed and registered driving range. You can help support us by contacting

P.S. AChristianAteeist - remember that you shouldn’t ever say ‘play golf’. Golf is not something you can ‘play’
