There was recently some news about the Las Vegas Sphere very slightly inconveniencing some rich folks over at the Wynn Golf Club in Las Vegas. We’re in Las Vegas this week for a Golf Control conference and thought it was time for another update.

See, while most people thought this was a hilarious troll on the Wynn Golf Course, we were reminded of another serious golf injury that gets swept under the rug by our pervasive Golf Culture: Eyes lost to golf.

People consistently lose their eyes (and eyesight) to golf mishaps around the world. This happens whether they’re golfing casually at a TopGolf, participating in a tournament, or even just observing professional golf. This is a serious and sobering trend.

There has been active litigation to make golf courses safer in Europe, an we think we can follow in their footsteps on our path to completely eliminating golf in America.

Where litigation fails, we think all golfers should be required to carry golf insurance for the cases where they cause grievous bodily injury (or property damage) to fellow golfers or onlookers. This is just a small step toward #GolfZero.

Until we achieve our goal, we’ll leave you with this: the golfers at Wynn Golf Course deserve to be reminded of the consequences of their violent and depraved ‘sport.’
